What Can I Expect?
First and foremost, at The Turning Point drug and alcohol detox centre you can expect to be treated with care and respect. We provide a safe and compassionate place to complete your withdrawal and participate in the treatment program.
Checking In
Checking in can be a challenging experience, our staff will nurture you through this process. Those afflicted with a substance abuse disorder have no idea of what to expect within their first 24 hours at an alcohol/drug treatment centre, so here is a brief indication of what you can expect.
You will not be alone – we will take care of you. 95% of our staff are in recovery themselves, living clean and sober, therefore they have a complete understanding of your current situation and will compassionately guide you through your admission process.
Following your initial meeting with our Admission Staff you will be shown through to your room, then inducted on all the facilities OH&S Policies, including emergency evacuation procedures.
Your belongings will be searched for any prohibited substances and products. This will be explained to you prior to the search. We will ensure items that are confiscated will be safely locked away or disposed of if necessary.
Assessment
Relevant admission paper work is completed upon arrival. Your Treatment Plan is formulated with input from yourself. You will play a significant role in the development of this plan.
Your meeting with the Clinical Director is an important start to your process. You will be asked personal questions and transparency will be the key for your recovery. Co-operation and 100% honesty on your part will ensure the most effective plan is formulated for you that will be easier for you in the long-run.
Once you have met with our admission requirements you will be introduced to The Turning Point Team and other guests.
